These are helpful and kind of fun so we thought we'd leave this page up.

New to Utah?  There are a few things we thought you might need to know.  Some are serious and some are just for fun.

RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT
A fun kids game?  Not in Utah!  NEVER, EVER jump a green light in Utah.  You will be shocked to see how many people run the red light.

RSVP - répondez s'il vous plaît
People in Utah don't RSVP.  So don't take it personally if you host an event and no one RSVP's.

"NO THANK YOU"
Don't expect 'Thank you' cards from most Utahns.  I have given many wedding, birthday and baby shower presents, and I am surprised when I do get a thank you card from the recipient.

MISCELLANEOUS

**If you’re from the east and looking for Hellman’s mayonnaise – it’s called “Best Foods” here.

**If you hear someone say “go down 123rd South and take a right onto 7th East” ….

What they mean is “go down 12300 South and turn right onto 700 East”

123rd = 12300, 7th = 700 (leave off the last two 00 digits on all the street names)

**106th South becomes 104th as you head west in South Jordan but it’s still the same street.

NOTE: This is true for MANY streets that run East-West.

3300 South becomes 3500 South as you go West

4500 South becomes 4700 South as you go West

5300 South becomes 5400 South as you go West

10600 South becomes 10400 South as you go West
